We are also near Park Rapids area lakes, antique shops, gift shops and museums, Northern Lights Casino, Leech Lake, golf courses (miniature to regulation), and many wonderful restaurants.Local Attractions: The Inn overlooks Lac de Belle Taine. Lake Belle Taine is a 1211-acre lake providing habitat for pan fish, walleye, northern pike, and large and small mouth bass. The Nevis City Park is located directly across from the Inn, offering swimming, picnicking and a peaceful environment for guests. The Heartland Bicycle and Snowmobile Trail is one block north of the Inn. The scenic trail offers over 50 miles of trails with a connection to the Paul Bunyan Trail that travels south to Brainerd. Northern Light Opera Company Local Events: Moondance Jam: July 15 kicks off this 3-day rock and roll concert in Walker. Contact Bill or Kathy Bieloh at 1-877-MOONJAM, 281-836-1055, www.moondancejam.com Taste of Dorset: 1st Sunday in August. Just a 4.5 mile bike ride from The Park Street Inn. Downtown restaurants and businesses turn downtown Dorset into one large picnic. Besides food, musical groups perform in each of Dorset's four corners, and games attract kids of all ages. Runs from 11:30 am till 3 pm. Northwoods Triathlon: Annual event that starts with a quarter-mile swim in Lake Belle Taine (directly across from the Inn), 14-mile bike ride, and a 5K run. The event is the second weekend in August, and anyone can register after January 1.
